Agria Park is more than just a shopping centre. It is an urban meeting point where Eger’s historic atmosphere, modern retail and community experiences come together naturally.
In the heart of Eger city centre, on a site with a unique history, a community space has been reborn that once served as a marketplace and later, for more than a century, as the Eger Tobacco Factory, playing a defining role in the life of the city. Agria Park has carried this heritage forward: preserving the values of the past while adapting them to the needs of the present, it has created an architectural complex that is unique even on a national level.
The iconic water tower, preserved elements of industrial architecture, mature-tree park and distinctive Zsolnay ornamental fountain all contribute to an atmosphere that both evokes Eger’s history and reflects the dynamism of modern urban life. At Agria Park, shopping is not merely an everyday activity, but an experience: a walk where past and present meet.
Its proximity to the city centre offers a special advantage for both local residents and tourists visiting Eger. Just a few minutes’ walk from the city’s historic attractions, Agria Park has become a natural part of Eger’s vibrant urban life - a place where sightseeing, a coffee, a cinema visit, a meeting or even an entire afternoon can easily come together.
The shopping centre’s wide range of stores and services, dining options, cinema, fitness centre and community programmes attract a diverse audience every day. Our own events, family programmes and seasonal campaigns actively connect retail with the city’s cultural life while creating genuine experiences for visitors.
Agria Park is also a stable economic and commercial presence in the region. The stores and service providers operating here offer employment opportunities to hundreds of people, while the shopping centre’s continuously developing environment provides an attractive and enduring presence for its partners and tenants. The historic setting, city-centre location, strong local ties and steady visitor traffic form a unique combination that offers outstanding long-term business potential.
Today, Agria Park is much more than a place to shop. It is a living urban environment. A meeting point. A reimagined form of unique architectural and cultural heritage.
A place where Eger’s past and present meet every day.

Attractions at Agria Park
Water Tower
The water tower of the Royal Hungarian Tobacco Factory was built in 1896 together with the factory’s other buildings and supplied the factory facilities with water until 1936. Water reached the tower by gravity through a cast-iron pipeline from the springs of the Tagos vineyard area on the northern side of Castle Hill. The water tank was supplied by a pump installed in a 27-metre-deep well located in the former marketplace beside the tower. Both the pump’s drive system and the well house itself are notable examples of technological history. The crystal-clear water was also consumed by factory workers. The water tower was renovated several times and, following privatisation, was restored in accordance with the original plans as part of the factory’s general reconstruction.
Zsolnay Ornamental Fountain
The ornamental fountain was created for the centenary celebrations of the Eger Tobacco Factory in 1996, based on the winning competition entry and the designs of sculptor György Kungl. Unique in Hungary, the work is covered with durable Zsolnay glaze and depicts one of Eger’s landmarks, the famous water tower of the Tobacco Factory. Brown tobacco leaves surround its base, while tobacco smoke appears to swirl at the top. During the construction of the shopping centre, the ornamental fountain was carefully wrapped and preserved, and today it can once again be seen by everyone in its original location in the mature-tree ornamental park.
